One of the four state universities, WCSU has an enrollment of just under 6,000. Established in 1903, its 398-acre campus in Danbury is notable for being home to the Ives Concert Park, an outdoor amphitheater that’s the region’s foremost performance venue.
WCSU has five academic schools: the Ancell School of Business, Maricostas School of Arts and Sciences, School of Professional Studies, School of Visual & Performing Arts, and Division of Graduate Studies. Founded in 1927, the University of Bridgeport was originally called the Junior College of Connecticut, and was the first junior college in the country’s northeastern region.
Today, the University of Bridgeport is home to over 5,300 students who all strive for lifelong learning and development through the University’s different academic programs. In addition to undergraduate, graduate, and health sciences programs, the University also offers online courses as well as continuing education programs for adult, part-time students.
