South Norwalk is a neighborhood in Norwalk that combines a scenic waterfront atmosphere with vibrant dining, shopping, and entertainment offerings.

In its early days, the neighborhood was known as “Old Well,” before it was eventually chartered as the city of South Norwalk in 1870. It was officially incorporated on June 6, 1913, and is currently Norwalk’s Second Taxing District.

Also referred to as “SoNo,” South Norwalk is considered one of the most enjoyable neighborhoods in the region, with its terrific collection of nightlife venues, must-visit bakeries and restaurants, unique shops and galleries, and fun attractions.
