Five reasons why you will love living in Wilton, CT

February 24th, 2017 | Higgins Group Real Estate

At first glance, Wilton may seem like any other small colonial town. Stay for awhile however, and you begin to appreciate its local quirks and charming character. Sure, it may be a bit too laid-back for some people, but that’s not necessarily a bad thing, especially if you enjoy a more relaxed atmosphere.

Wilton

Here are some of the things that make Wilton a great place to live in:

It’s a very close-knit community

If you’re a resident who grew up in Wilton, there’s a good chance you’ve encountered almost everyone at some point. This doesn’t necessarily mean you’re close to everyone in town, but there’s something comforting when you’re around familiar faces each day.

The picturesque atmosphere

Wilton boasts picture-perfect scenery no matter what season, perfect for anyone who enjoys soaking in breathtaking views. In addition, there are plenty of wide open spaces excellent for families who love outdoor activities.

The sports

Kids in Wilton love playing sports. The town has after-school football camps at Middlebrook, soccer leagues at Kristine Lilly Field, and several other sports programs. Weekends are almost always dedicated to watching kids compete in games.

Stargazing at Old Huckleberry Road

One of Wilton’s most beloved spots, Old Huckleberry Road is a road situated between the reservoir, with a small attached island that’s the perfect venue for stargazing.

The Weir Farm National Historic Site

This is definitely one of the most scenic spots in the region. Here, visitors can simply linger and admire the serene natural environment. Art enthusiasts can also learn more about J. Alden Weir, one of the world’s most famous American impressionist painters – his farm and studio can be found at the site.

These are just some of the many reasons why residents love living in Wilton! If you’d like to know more about the town, visit this page.
