Create Upscale-looking Interiors with These Tips

We all have home décor inspirations. What most of us don’t know, however, is that we can achieve the look that we want without spending too much cash. Follow these simple tips to make your home look like a million bucks.

    1. Declutter

The number one enemy of upscale-looking interiors is clutter. Get rid of disjointed knickknacks and other items that don’t go well with your personal style and your vision. Take time to walk through different parts of your home to sort out what belongs where and to determine the items you should get rid of for good. Remember: luxurious living spaces are often clean and organized.

    2. Clean your home

Simple and inexpensive, this tip can make your home feel fresh and brand new. No need to schedule weekly clean-ups (but if you have time, please do) – a deep clean once or twice a year will suffice. Pay attention to grouting, especially in bathrooms and kitchens, as dirty tiles and grout can make your living spaces feel especially grungy. If you’ve got wood floors, try steam cleaning. Not only does it eliminate grunge, but it restores its finish.

    3. Install new lights or rearrange old ones

Light, when properly placed, can make your home feel like one luxurious hangout. Use lights to define spaces and even make small nooks feel grand enough. Consider installing a dimmer as well, especially for overhead lights. To create an even more upscale feel, go for warm-colored lightbulbs.

    4. Get new hardware

You can easily update your home by swapping old hardware with new, stylish ones. You don’t always have to go for brushed-steel pulls. How about crystal, gold, or bronze? You can even be adventurous and head to the nearest vintage store or flea market to find hardware that fits your personal style.

Another way to make your home look more expensive is to change your countertops and faucets.

    5. Repaint your home

For an instant makeover that doesn’t cost much, go for a fresh coat of paint. Choose beautiful colors to update your look. You can also pick a bold color for an accent wall to elevate your room to the next level. If you’ve got wood floors, take to mind that sandy tan tones complement such floor types well.
