It’s no secret that Stamford is home to a great number of interesting attractions. Jerry Springer and Steve Wilkos even film their shows in the city. Moreover, we’ve mentioned some of Stamford’s most beloved attractions in one of our previous blog posts. If you’re looking for more places to visit in Stamford — both popular and off the beaten track — we highly recommend the following attractions.

Stamford Museum and Nature Center
39 Scofieldtown Rd

If you’re looking for a well-balanced mix of history, natural and agricultural sciences, art, and popular culture, Stamford Museum and Nature Center is a must-visit. The museum hosts numerous events and educational programs year-round. Within the grounds you’ll find an observatory and planetarium, a farm, and the Edith Robert Graham Otter Pond, among others.

Stamford Old Town Hall

Known throughout the city for its elegant Beaux-Arts architecture, the Stamford Old Town Hall is located in the downtown district. Opened in 1905, the Old Town Hall offers a slice of local history. Today, Stamford Old Town Hall hosts a series of events and also serves as a popular venue for special occasions.

The Palace Theater

Another iconic structure, the Palace Theater in Downtown Stamford has long been the center of arts and entertainment in the city since the 1920s. It is run by the Stamford Center for the Arts (SCA), which also owns the state-of-the-art Rich Forum just four blocks away from the Palace Theater.

Fans of contemporary art will surely love Fernando Luis Alvarez Gallery, which showcases art from growing and emerging contemporary artists in the area. The gallery also has its own impressive collection of artworks from artists such as Robert Longo, Richard Diebenkorn, Jake Berthot, and Sean Scully. The Fernando Luis Alvarez Gallery is open Tuesdays to Saturdays, from 11 am to 6 pm.

Ukrainian Museum and Library of Stamford
161 Glenbrook Rd

Stamford’s Ukrainian museum is the oldest Ukrainian cultural institution in all of North America. The museum features collections on fine arts, folk arts, religious art, as well as an impressive collection of tomes. The Ukrainian Museum is open by appointment every Wednesday to Friday, from 1pm to 5 pm.
