Norwalk WPA Mural Tours

Get to see 31 restored Works Progress Administration (WPA) murals at the Norwalk City Hall and other locations. These murals were created by WPA artists from 1935 to 1941. They made more than 50 different works of art for public places around Norwalk, including its public schools, post offices, and libraries. While most of the murals are now lost or completely destroyed, the City Hall houses the largest collection of these murals, which are an excellent representation of the country’s Depression-era art, offering visitors a glimpse of the city’s rich history.

Norwalk Art Festival

The Norwalk Art Festival is a two-day fine art and crafts festival which is usually held on the last weekend of June. The festival brings together talented local artists and musicians, offering visitors an opportunity to interact with them and admire their work. The festival takes place in the scenic Matthews Park, steps away from two museums and the nationally recognized Art Center.

The Avenue Gallery

Established in 1998, The Avenue Gallery is a well-known destination for art lovers from Fairfield County. The gallery specializes in both old and new art, offering a variety of pieces such as antique maps, contemporary monotypes, nautical charts, oil on canvas works, and more. The gallery is also known for their top-notch custom archival framing, which allows customers to preserve and display any artwork with elegance.
