Shopping in Fairfield County CT

Fairfield County is home to an incredible array of retail options where you can score the latest in designer apparel or unique objets d’art. The county covers a total area of around 830 square miles and is composed of more than 20 cities; if you’re going shopping in Fairfield County, it’ll probably be one of the biggest shopping sprees you’ll ever indulge in.

Shopping Centers

All throughout Fairfield County, you’ll find big shopping centers that house the branches of some of the foremost brands in the retail industry. Westfield Trumbull is one, a shopping center that is filled to the brim with entertainment, retail, and dining options. Stamford Town Center is also worth mentioning, as is Norwalk’s Factory Outlet Center, where you can find a bargain or two.

Thrift Stores, Antique Shops and More

Thrift stores are often where you can find treasures for much less. It takes a keen eye and, of course, patience, to search a thrift store for memorable finds, but once you do, the experience can be extremely rewarding. Handcrafted decorative accessories, carpets, antiques, and unique works of art are common offerings of the stores scattered in Fairfield County, a place rife with history. Greenwich, New Canaan, Southport, and Darien are home to great thrift and antique stores.

Greenwich Hospital Auxiliary Thrift Shop is a non-profit thrift shop operated and sponsored by the Greenwich Hospital Auxiliary. Located in Helmsley Medical Building’s Atrium, you can find vintage furniture, designer clothing, glassware, jewelry, stemware, and antiques of the highest quality. It’s definitely not your run-of-the-mill shop, and the best thing about it is that all proceeds go to the hospital.

Check out these places as well for great thrift store finds: Carousel Thrift Shop in Southport, The New Canaan Thrift Shop in New Canaan, and the Darien Community Association Thrift Shop in Darien.
